The "new normal" changes the way we approach beauty. First, we can no longer swatch products with testers at our favourite retailers and then we are also more prudent with our lip product purchases; after all, we are masked up most of the time, we'd want to make sure that the new lipsticks we buy are really worth snagging and staining (our masks) for.
This is perhaps why the Daily Vanity team couldn't contain our excitement when we saw the small (but mighty!) Dear Dahlia Sensuous Matte Lip Suit mini set.
This is a six-piece set of mini lipsticks that are housed in a box with marble print that's signature to Dear Dahlia. The box reminds us of a large matchstick box and the set features six ultra lightweight liquid lipsticks that has a silk-to-matte finish and in a range of wearable shades.
These lipsticks carry a high-pigment formula and is buildable so you can create the vividness that you prefer. Formulated with Dear Dahlia's Air-Fit texture, it sets onto your lips without the drying discomfort that you hate. It also contains skin-conditioning ingredients to protect your lips and keep them feeling hydrated.
As this is a new product at Sephora, there were only two reviews of it (averaging 4.25 stars) but they tell us quite a bit about what we need to know.
One reviewer said that these matte liquid lipsticks are "one of the best I've ever tried". She said that the shades look good and that she would be getting the full-sized versions of these lipsticks.
Another reviewer commented that the lipsticks are tiny (we agree) but that the price is acceptable if you want to try a few shades from the brand. She commented that she liked the nude colours in the set and that they looked "really nice" and "more matte".
As for us, we really wouldn't mind getting the set just for the variety of colours it offers and to try out new shades without in the hope of landing at least one that we really love so we can get the full-sized version. Moreover, the packaging and mini sizes of the lipsticks are just too cute to resist – call us superficial, but we're definitely sold!
