When I first used the essence after toning my skin, I noticed its pleasant scent. It glided on smoothly and left a cooling sensation on my skin. The lightweight texture absorbed well too, and my skin looked glowier and more hydrated after.
During the 12-hour hydration challenge, I did my usual skincare routine but swapped in the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Activating Essence Lotion and Water Gel. I sat in for lectures during the day and went to a friend's house for dinner and returned home late at night. My skin still looked and felt hydrated even though it was well after 12 hours.

The packaging is nice and simple. I love the sweet, powdery scent the essence has, and it's very soothing when I applied it on my face. There are tiny pearls in the essence but I didn't feel it on my skin. When I used it for the first time, my skin felt more hydrated and looked brighter too – an unexpected bonus.
Since I work from home, I did a few house chores in between my work hours. My skin still felt hydrated after 12 hours. Initially, I thought my skin appeared oily, but it was actually a dewy glow because my skin didn't feel greasy at all. When I used the essence before makeup, it helped my foundation last longer too.

Some of the essences that I have tried in the past leave a sticky feel after application, but not this Neutrogena one. This essence has a lovely light fragrance and a watery texture that absorbs quickly. My skin felt hydrated and supple after the first use.
I worked from home for the entire day, did some housework, and cooked after work. The essence was able to retain my skin's moisture and it still felt hydrated after 12 hours. It's the best essence I've tried and it worked really well for my skin type. I didn't experience any irritation from this product at all.

Thankfully, the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Activating Essence Lotion delivered. When I first used it, I noticed that the product absorbed in seconds and left no residue on my skin. My skin looked dewy and plump right after too.
As for the 12-hour test, my face looked a little shiny after work, but that usually happens after a long day. My skin definitely felt more hydrated, though. After two days, my skin appeared much glowier, and my skin texture looked smoother and more refined. The essence didn't clog my pores or cause any irritation too.
